Our Team For Pottery and Glass Art

We are a diverse team of artists committed to fostering an inclusive environment. We are open to inspiring all, regardless of race, ethnicity, national origin, sex, gender identity and expression, status, religion, or disability. For over ten years, our studio has been a place for passionate artists and art lovers of all levels. We offer art lessons and work together to create an environment that inspires our community's families and individuals through the creative process using clay, pottery wheels, and glass. We are proud to say that we are in the business of creating future artists.

Let’s meet our creative team.

Jay Gilani

My journey in art started when I was eight. I studied Art History and Contemporary Art at Oxford University and completed a Master's Program in Art Education at the Art Academy University in San Francisco. Art, Biking, and playing Sitar are my hobbies.

I firmly believe that an artist is hidden inside each person - inspiration is the only gap between the hidden talent of individual creativity.

My Love for clay started back in the 70s when I discovered the limitless ways to explore shapes in coil and slab building and various pottery techniques on the wheel. My pottery skills and knowledge are both self-taught and private pottery instruction taken over the years. Recently I have found a calling for teaching community pottery classes. It fills my heart with joy when students (of all ages) eyes sparkle and discovering ‘handmade’ is so rewarding. Look forward to seeing you.

When I was a child, I wanted to be an artist when I grew up. I became strongly interested in ceramics throughout school and college as a hobby, and pottery turned into a respite from a series of stressful jobs. I've been learning in the past several years to truly follow your own joy to create balance in your life, and I love inviting others to do the same through teaching classes at FEELartistic. Outside of visual arts, I enjoy learning and practicing meditation, and music, and being outdoors through gardening, yoga, swimming, and hiking.

Ceramics is my first love of the various art disciplines. I took my first ceramics class when I was nine years old. With ceramics I have found that there is always something new to learn. I have had a fulfilling career teaching art to children and now I am thrilled to be working with adults. I have my BFA in drawing and painting from the University of Washington and I am currently working on my MFA in interdisciplinary arts at Goddard College. I enjoy hiking, children's literature and of course ceramics.

I was always fascinated with how Disney films evoked emotions in me, despite being a series of many, many drawings. When I was brought to tears during "The Lion King" or laughed out loud at "The Emperor's New Groove", I realized how deep art resonated with me. I want to bring those powerful feelings to others with my work as well. As such, I am attending Digipen Institute of Technology to major in digital art and animation.
